Looking back to July 2023, the streets were thronged with locals and visitors eager to see the procession, and cheer the Carnival Sovereign, Prince and Princess.
Bacton Transport agreed again to provide us with some lorries for the Procession floats – we are very grateful to them for this.
Our theme for our 2023 Carnival was “Stowmarket past, present, future”, and we were delighted to be joined by many members of previous Carnival Courts!
The Procession left the Meadlands roundabout around midday on Saturday 15th, going westward through Combs Ford and the town arriving at the Recreation Ground around 2pm.
To let the procession move easily through Stowmarket, road closures were in place, and every year we please ask that you adhere to these on the day and respect the instructions of the Traffic Marshalls.
We really appreciated everyone coming out to support the Carnival Procession – a lot of time and effort goes into creating the floats and it is lovely to see all the pavements filled with people watching the Procession.
